At Ideal Homes we think every new home Community has a unique story to tell that goes beyond just streets and houses.

With that, welcome to our first “Feature Friday”.  Each week we plan to feature a new home Community in Oklahoma City and the surrounding metro.  Ideal Homes builds homes in Oklahoma City, but we are also a developer.  That means that we buy the land, put in the improvements, and oversee every component to take bare piece of land and make it a new home Community.

For our first Community feature, we start with New Homes in Yukon, Oklahoma and the Springs at Settlers Ridge.  Ideal Homes builds new homes in Yukon, Oklahoma, but we also build lifestyle.  There is no greater example of this than our newest community – The Springs at Settlers Ridge.

Here are just a few of the many things that set this Community apart:

 1.  Brand new floorplan designs.  Our product development team literally worked for years to develop the Reunion series of home designs.  These eight designs are specifically designed for flexibility, openness allowing an abundance of natural light, and are perfect for empty nesters who are downsizing, young professionals or families with busy lives.

2.  An unmatched Community Lifestyle:  The Springs at Settlers Ridge in Yukon is a quaint gated Community featuring a central park dotted with ponds, surrounded by a walking trail.  Not to mention – every home is on a cul-de-sac.  Residents of the Springs at Settlers Ridge will also enjoy a pool, clubhouse, and fitness center opening in 2012.  To top it all off, you can sell your lawnmower before you move!  The Springs at Settlers Ridge is a maintenance free Community – including lawn service and flowerbed maintenance.

3.  Incredible Location:   Of all our 15 Communities this might be the best location.  Here’s just a sample of what’s within two miles:  Super Target; Starbucks; Lowes; Louies; Alfredo’s; multiple fueling stations; I-40; Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital; Kohls; Jonnie Carinos Dickenson Theater; Chili’s.  If you can’t find it within two miles of the Springs at Settlers Ridge…you probably don’t need it.  The Springs at Settlers Ridge simply has the best location for New Homes in Yukon, Oklahoma.

There’s more to see and tell about the Springs at Settlers Ridge, but we hope you will come see it in person, view one of our available homes, or simply stop by to say hi.  The Community is approximately two miles South of I-40 on Garth Brooks Blvd./HWY 92 in Yukon.

Next week we’ll look at New Homes in Edmond and New Homes in Deer Creek.  We’ll feature Valencia, Ideal’s one of a kind master-planned Community in NW Oklahoma City.

Ideal Homes and United Way Norman Day of Caring 2011

Our Ideal Homes team immensely enjoyed the United Way Norman Day of Caring 2011. Our fearless group leader, Kent Dahl, rallied a crew of volunteers to assist with construction projects at the Center for Children and Families (CCFI). Kent Dahl and Dan Rice finished the demolition of a closet in the play therapy / observation room. This dynamic duo then rebuilt the closet to house a special two way mirror.

Joe Ochoa, Jeannie Hitchcock and Jenny Juvera constructed hospital light fixtures for the play rooms. They used the same design as the fixtures built by Ideal volunteers in 2010. The final product is a great example of what teamwork can accomplish in a short amount of time.

The final project included resizing an existing wooden stage platform with a hiding space and shelving. The stage was then placed back in the play therapy / observation room and painted. Joe Shore, Mark Vander Wal, Beckie Neff and I all worked on this project.

The projects allowed us to work closely together as a team, while helping support a wonderful organization. It was my first visit to the center. The CCFI staff was welcoming and appreciative. They repeatedly expressed their gratitude. Their explanations let us know how much of an impact these projects would have on the families who came to them for help.

Norman, Okla. (Jan. 21, 2009) – The word is out that Ideal Homes has accepted ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s challenge to build a new home for a special family in the Oklahoma City area. Ty Pennington and the design team will kick off the build when they knock on the door of one of five deserving families on Feb. 1.

“This is a community effort. In addition to the home we build for a deserving family, the entire metro area will benefit through the food and blood drives we are planning as part of this extraordinary week,” said Todd Booze, Ideal Homes president of construction. “We hope that people from across the area will answer our call for support.”

Ideal Homes has been absolutely amazed by the flood of Oklahomans who want to be a part of Ideal’s Extreme build. One way you can get involved is by participating in Ideal’s Extreme Food Drive.

“When the show came to us, we were excited not only about changing the life of a deserving family but by energizing residents of central Oklahoma to do something amazing for the entire community,” Booze continued.

As Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has traveled throughout the United States filming over 170 episodes. They realized that even more could be given back to the community. That’s why Ideal Homes has partnered with the United Way of Norman to collect 23,000 pounds of food. “The goal is large, but we’re up for the challenge,” Booze said, “and we need your help. Let’s show everyone what central Oklahoma can do!”
